Sports Environment Alliance announces SEA Changer Award winners

Sports Environment Alliance announces SEA Changer Award winners
April 11, 2022

The Sports Environment Alliance (SEA) has the Australian Grand Prix and Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort Golf & Country Club as the winners of its SEA Changer Award.

The Australian Grand Prix Corporation demonstrated a range of sustainability initiatives in their 'Green Prix Program' leading up to the 2020 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, notably donating over 1.5 tonnes of food due to the last-minute cancellation.

Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort and Country Club exhibited innovative and sustainable solutions for golf course maintenance systems, recycling and reusing over 30 million litres of wastewater - enough water to fill 12 Olympic sized swimming pools and reducing water consumption by 18%.

The Grand Prix Corporation won in the #SEAMember category while the Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort Golf & Country Club was recognised in the non-SEA member category.

Announced last month at the SEA Summit at the MCG, SEA Chief Executive, Dr Sheila Nguyen acknowledged “the outstanding efforts of our #SEAChanger Awards applicant (noting that) we look forward to supporting and celebrating our entrants’ sustainability journeys for years to come.”

SEA thanked all who attended the event in person or via live stream, as well as the official event sponsors, speakers, contributors, volunteers, suppliers, and award judges.
