Jasstech LED sport lighting installations illuminates Ipswich sport fields
After a successful year-long trial installation at an Ipswich City Council sports field, AAA-LUX LED sports luminaires are now to be installed at a further eight fields in the area.
Having been effectively used by the Ipswich Rangers Rugby Union Club, the worlds most trusted LED sports field lighting will be used across eight installations encompassing AFL, athletics, football, rugby league, rugby union and softball.
Ipswich City Council has found its investment in the LED technology particularly beneficial since replacing the Ipswich Rangers’ 1970s-style HID lighting solutions. Having undertaken a ‘lamp for lamp’ retrofit, the results across performance, energy savings and maintenance were unparalleled prompting the Council to roll out the additional fields.
Supplied in Australia by Jasstech Solutions, the Dutch-made AAA-LUX LED sports luminaires have also been installed by Auckland, Carpentaria, Lockyer Valley, Maranoa, Moreton and Moree Plains Regional Councils, along with the Universtiy of Queensland, James Cook Univesity, Burleigh Bears and a number of other clubs and facility operators.
Jasstech Managing Director Justin Albin sees that the 1.55 KW LED luminaire now outperforms 1970s style 2.2KW mercury laden metal halide luminaires, and is completely retrofit-able to existing poles.
Albin explains “the total unit, including the incredibly compact efficient driver, is entirely pole mounted keeping everything neat and together - out of flooding and harms way.
“The luminaires are wireless controlled allowing dimming, zoning and smart management of the fields and facilities from either the club house or beside the field.
“In fact multi fields can be controlled from a central point up to 2 kilometers away.
“(As a result) it is now possible to manage and review performance and usage, and smart manage from central locations, and whole of city command posts.
“The capability to allocate costs and time of use per field, per user, is now a real possibility.”
Albin adds “the AAA-LUX WS series luminaires are designed specifically for sporting applications and are not a ‘generic flood light’ trying to achieve all things for all markets.”
AAA-LUX sister AL Series and JT Series are designed for ports, airports and Infrastructure, which Nicholls explains have important differences.
He concludes “we now have over 15 councils across Australia and New Zealand leveraging the AAA-LUX WS Series sports field luminaires in order to reduce their carbon footprint, reduce energy and maintenance costs and improve play-ability and lux levels on their fields.”
