First Installations for Organic Synthetic Turf Infill
An innovative organic infill product for synthetic turf is set to be used in new installations at two Australian sportsgrounds.
The InfillPro Geo system, from Italian-based Limonta Sport, is to be used in conjunction with Limonta Sport artificial grass surfaces at the training base for AFL's Port Adelaide Power and for the Manly Warringah Football Association and Manly United Football Club at Cromer Park in the Sydney suburb of Dee Why.
Limonta Sport's newgrass, SoccerPro and RugbyPro products are third generation artificial grass products suitable for a range of sport and recreational uses. With Limonta Sport being one of just five global manufacturers with FIFA Preferred Producer status, their SoccerPro is a FIFA 'two star' surface suitable for elite competition.
Used in conjunction with its synthetic surfaces, Limonta's InfillPro Geo is an organic material of plant origin. Created in 2003, and with more than 150 pitch installations worldwide, the product has revolutionised the infill method for artificial turf fields.
Being organic, the product is environmentally friendly and can be recycled for agricultural use when the artificial turf comes to the end of its life (usually a period of around 10 years).
InfillPro Geo also performs at low temperatures and can keep the median temperature of synthetic turf surfaces lower than rubber infill. In addition, with its plant origin, InfillPro Geo has a high UV resistance making deterioration very slow over a very long time.
The plant origin of InfillPro Geo also providesg a correct bounce of the ball and in the case of falling, similar characteristics to natural grass.
