Advanced Polymer Technology Australasia Pty Ltd launches sustainable ‘Re-Creation’ technology
Advanced Polymer Technology Australasia Pty Ltd (APTA) has launched a new, sustainable technology called 'Re-Creation' which converts post-consumer water and soft drink plastic bottles into synthetic grass.
Known for manufacturing elite sporting surfaces like the Olympic Hockey field 'POLIGRAS' and the athletic surface 'REKORTAN', APTA's new technology marks another step in APTA's commitment to supplying environmental conscious sporting and landscape surfaces. For years APTA has been leading the market by promoting solvent-free, heavy-metal free surfacing systems, saving millions of litres of water. The company also offers advanced adhesive technology based on rapidly renewable resources.
APTA Managing Director Dr Martin Schlegel explains "'Re-Creation' is another step to provide sustainable solutions to the recreation industry that make everyone feel safe".
With a minimum of 25% recycled content used in a Re-Creation product the company recycles more than 30 plastic bottles for every square metre of surface installed.
Developed in its Australian production facilities in cooperation with APTA's supply partner, Australian-based Tapex, the 'Re-Creation' technology was launched in January 2011 in the landscape market together with APTA's exclusive landscape partners Enduroturf, Newturf Solutions and Synthetic Turf Products.
